Due to recent events on LewdChat, there have been multiple misunderstandings and rumours regarding the removal of WedgeAntilles/Dylan from staff. As a result, our team has come together to write this post to inform you all and explain the reasoning behind his removal – we hope this post stops any more transgressions regarding this topic.
Staff on LewdChat have spoken with Dylan numerous times regarding his moderation on the site; due to the multiple occasions, Dylan needed to follow staff protocol. Dylan was made aware several times that his way of moderating by banning users with no explanations would not be tolerated. There have also been incidents where Dylan would share private staff discussions within main channels – fully aware that this was against the rules. Due to his failure of complying to the regulations all staff have to follow, it was decided in February to remove Dylan from our team as we believed it was in the best interests of LewdChat.
However, when he and another staff member faced an issue with one another during his time as staff, it did not go unnoticed. The actions of the incident led to consequences that reflected the severity of the incident that all staff members agreed upon – which Dylan was able to contribute towards. The following sanction on the other staff member was to be demoted from their current position in staff. It was considered to remove them from LewdChat staff altogether; this was discussed in January of this year. Dylan had every chance to voice his opinion regarding whether he ever felt treated unjustly and wanted further sanctions to be put into place.
Upon his removal in February, Dylan breached many rules we expect all users to follow. He ranged from attempting to start unnecessary arguments in main channels completely unprovoked to hurtful words being used against staff and even cases of racist remarks regarding our team and finally adding further accusations to what was already handled in the previous month. When asked to provide evidence of the other allegations Dylan had voiced, he failed to comply and show proof of said misconduct – this therefore deemed only as speculations.
Dylan’s behaviour was not tolerated, and he received the same sanctions any user would pay for, such as kicking from the channel and being muted for an x amount of time to ultimately a ban. After Dylan received bans, he made numerous ban evasions and mistreated several staff members again. All of our staff followed the necessary protocol put into place; there was no malice from any staff member concerning the consequences our team had put into place for Dylan.
